CPF French Summer Camp 2018

CPF BURNABY FUN WITH FRENCH SUMMER CAMP 2018!

This is a day camp (9.00 am – 3.00 pm) where campers can enjoy sports, arts and activities in a French language environment! Lots of indoor and outdoor activities, art, French books and games. Camp includes one weekly day trip and a cool French t-shirt! French is the primary language spoken in the camp so campers require minimum 1 year of French Immersion or equivalent.

Camp is held at the Charles Rummel Community Centre (3630 Lozells Ave, Burnaby, V5A 2Y8), a quiet community park in the Government area of Burnaby. The park is equiped with playgroud, spray park and playing field.

  • WEEK 1 – August 13-17: CAMP EXTRÊME
    We’re taking this camp to the EXTRÊME – Extrême sports, arts and activities, including a day trip to Climb Base5 indoor rock-climbing gym!
  • WEEK 2 – August 20-24: CAMP MAGIQUE SCIENTIFIQUE
    We’re discovering the magic of Science!! Science experiments, magical arts and surprising activities and a day trip to Science World, including entry to the special exhibit – The Science behind Pixar!

$165 per week ($10 discount if registering for Week 1 and 2 – promo code: bothweeks)

Campers
Ages 5-12 and completed 1 year of French Immersion or equivalent

Conditions:
All campers require a Family CPF Membership for this camp. You can sign up on the National CPF site – or add a $25 Donation and we’ll do the work for you!
Note: only one family membership is required, regardless of the number of kids or weeks in the camp.

FAQs
All participants need to be enrolled in a French Immersion/Francophone program and have completed at least 1 year of French Immersion to participate in the camp.
What should my child bring to camp?
Lunch, snacks, water bottle, backpack, swim suit, towel, runners. Campers will be provided with a CPF t-shirt for the day trip. Please avoid packing any nut products. Please leave valuables and unncessary electronics at home.
Can I register my child if he/she has been accepted to French Immersion but has not started yet?
We cannot accept any children who have not completed Kindergarten but welcome you to sign them up next year! For those entering in Gr. 1 or late immersion but have some knowledge of French, please contact us. This camp is not recommended for campers with no exposure to French as all Leaders and volunteers will be speaking primarily in French throughout the camp.
Can I register my 5 year old if he/she has completed French Immersion Kindergarten?
Yes.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Charles Rummel Centre is a short walk from Lake City Way Station and can also be accessed by the #110 bus. On-site parking for easy drop off and pick up.
What are the camp hours? Is there before or after camp care?
Sign in is at 9am, sign out is at 3pm. No, we do not provide before or after camp care. You may complete the Sign In/Out Release Form to allow your child to sign in and/or sign out by themselves. We are only responsible for the campers during camp hours.
Behaviour Policy: CPF promotes a safe environment for all campers; bullying, dangerous, or violent behaviour will result in immediate suspension without refund.
Refund Policy: No refund.
Volunteer opportunity for French Immersion High School Students: Our camp provide fabulous opportunities for high school students to practice their French and gain experience working with kids!
